For the Assignment this week, you will select either theAfrobarometer or High School Longitudinal Study data setto construct a research question that can be tested using a One-Way ANOVA.

The title of your paper should be:

The Relationship between IV and DV from the Data set.

Replace the IV with the name of your IV as it appears in the data set.
Replace DV with your DV as it it appears in the data set.
Replace Data Set with the name of your selected data set (either Afrobarometer data set or HSLS data set).

Be sure to
– clearly identify the name of the data set and the variables as they appear in the variable name column in SPSS in writing at the start of your paper.
– Describe the IV and the DV and how they are measured
– Report the results of the Levene’s test of the assumption of equal variances.
– Report the results of the ANOVA in APA format.
– Indicate the post hoc test you used to compare means – be sure to select one that is appropriate based on whether the assumption of equal variances was met
– Compute and report the strength of the relationship using eta squared
– indicate which means, if any, differed. Be sure to report the means and standard deviations in APA format. You can create a table if you wish, but it must be in APA format
– discuss implications for positive social change
– Insert the SPSS output so that I can review your work. Place it at the end of the paper in an Appendix, after the References page.
– remember that eta squared is computed bySS Between Groups / SS total
– write using a scholarly tone. Write this as if you were submitting your results to be published or as part of your dissertation. Avoid opinions or referring to yourself unless it is necessary – it should not be. Avoid contractions or colloquialisms.
