Teachers will sometimes encounter situations in which students become a danger to themselves or others. It is important for teachers to have a plan in place to respond in ways that are ethical, legal, and appropriately responsive for all students in these situations. Teachers should incorporate behavior management strategies that are proactive in preventing the escalation of these behaviors as well.
Using the “Crisis Prevention and Intervention Plan Template,†describe in 150-250 words for each scenario how the teacher could intervene, what preventative steps could be taken, and how you would approach the scenario with families of the children involved for each of the behaviors in the template.
