To begin with, it sounds like Andrea is very helpful and get really draw out specific details that Bud is looking for as he searches for a career he is interested in. When she brings out the wheel for Bud, she is very clear in her descriptions of what each section means. I believe Bud learned the importance of taking all aspects and sections of the wheel such as labor organization, educational background, skills, etc., into consideration that can help narrow done some of his career choices or interests. When they were discussing his educational background, Andrea expressed that this section should also be kept in mind for the future. Meaning although he only had a high school degree, any courses or workshops he takes in the future will be helpful to his career/industry options and interests. I believe this gave Bud the message that he can work towards something, especially if he is set on working in a particular field with particular requirements. In addition to education, she also discussed his skills that seemed to be very helpful. With this discussion, Bud was able to not only identify his skills, but identify how he can use his skills to his particular interests. They discussed sales and how he can use his communication skills in his career.

A population that interests me in regards to a career guidance center are lower socioeconomic students, specifically senior year. This is a time when students are applying to college and deciding on where they are attending as they near graduation. However, lower SES students are less likely to get access to informational resources about colleges and careers. Therefore an ideal career guidance center would be at the high schools, particularly held for many students in a computer lab where there is access to Internet, or in the offices of the staff. The staff will consist of counselors, or those who have had training in career counseling. They could also be practicum students seeking to gain more clinical hours. The staff would be one type of resource, along with computers, videos, websites regarding information the student is looking for, and other types of resources. Once students complete an interest inventory, they can speak with the counselor or training professional/teacher on how to break this information down, similar to how Andrea did with Bud. They can also identify different career options and opportunities that would best fit with them and what they see in their future.
