For a couple of months, my wife and I attended a Church in Phoenix where we live. I have frequented quite a few Christian Churches and never really felt comfortable with the leadership. The pastor at this Church spent the whole of four Sundays speaking on the importance of tithing. One Sunday would have been fine, and for the life of me I do not know why I stayed for all four. I understand that churches have bills to pay and hopefully are funding missions and outreaches, but this pastor’s sermons bordered on fleecing. The most unfortunate part of this experience was, that for the first time I felt like part of the group that judges the whole of Christianity according to the obviously wealthy televangelists and their sometimes over the top actions.
