Read Scenario, Assess Preschool Development

Read the following scenario:

James is 4 years 5 months old. He is the oldest of three children. James is a very happy child. He knows many of his colors, all of his shapes and numbers, and fluently reads the first 100 sight words on the Dolch high frequency word list. James speaks approximately 300 words.
James is a very active young boy. He likes to bounce, toss, and catch a ball. James rolls down the grassy hills, turnssummersaults, jumps rope and loves to climb trees. He can print some upper and lowercase letters, draw detailed pictures and cut along solid and dotted lines. James prefers games he can play alone.

Based on the scenario above, analyze James’ current development in connection to the research on typical preschool growth and milestones. Construct an analysis of James’ growth, identifying areas that are typical and atypical and providing an overview of research-based strategies/approaches you may use as a care-giver/teacher to meet James’ needs.

Required to compose a substantive answer responding to the respective prompt. Scholarly work that is commensurate for a Masters level program is the expectation. This includes the inclusion of references and resources in alignment with APA guidelines.
