Response to LaMisha (Her step disseminating information)

Reading the article I find is very important for the public to know and understand the seriousness of how a substance abuse African American woman can damage the family as a whole. In the article it explains how the African American family is perceived and how it is viewed to others. The goal of the article is to not only educate the people but also teach them how to deal with a family with a substance abuse family. The four focus points are restraint, respect, responsibility, and reciprocity which the author goes into details about each focus point. It also explains the focus points in the different phases which is genisis, initiation, passage/transformation, and the sande society (Poitier, 1997).

With the information, my assigned step is disseminating research findings which means to broadcast the message to the public. I would make sure the information is not only available to students like myself, but maybe hold a community informational meeting that gives the community the information that’s in this article. I would also print out this article if possible and have it in different offices such as treatment centers, and doctors offices just so while the patients is waiting they can read the information. My goal will be to make sure the community is aware of this information and knows how to help the the families in need.
