Part Two: Counting Responses and Graphs
From a file attachment GSSFT, you will create any necessary and/or useful charts, graphs, plots, histograms and answer
the following questions.
1. Create Frequency table of importance of high income (jobinc). What are the percents of “Very important” and
“Fourth”?
Steps: Analyze/descriptive statistics/frequencies, in the Frequencies dialog box, select the variable “jobinc”, then click ok.
2 Create Frequency table of level of education (RS Highest Degree), then create Pie chart and Bar chart. What level has
the highest percent?
Steps: Analyze/descriptive statistics/frequencies, in the Frequencies dialog box, select the variable “RS highest Degree”,
then click “Chart”, on the Chart Type, select “Pie charts” and select Continue and click ok
To create Bar chart, do the same steps as pie chart except on the Chart Type, select “Bar chart”.
3 Create a Histogram of ages of respondents. What is the mean? And Standard Deviation? (see answers from the
histogram)
Steps: Graphs/Histogram, select the variable “Ages of Respondents”, then check a box “display normal curve”, click
“Continue” and click ok.
