Required Research Prospectus Revision based on Instructor’s Feedback:

My instructor has provided feedback on my Dissertation Prospectus which suggests that some adjustments needed to be done to the Introduction and the gap of the study. Dr. Harris recommended that this learner should focus on the key ideas derived from the studies or literature review. The literature review should have validity and reliability (empirical studies) in order to be useful. The studies obtained (literature review) should provide this learner with the explanation needed for this learner’s dissertation. This learner should refer to the proposal as a proposed study until it is approved. Because some of the literature review suggests that “further studies are needed”, this learner should be prepared to provide a succinct argument which shows this learner’s understanding of the phenomenon and what is missing in the literature review; a better understanding of what has been researched on this topic and the insufficiency of the material presented so far. This learner needs to write concisely and eliminate unnecessary excess which will strengthen the study providing persuasiveness and clarity. In order to provide clarity to this study, this learner should lead the reader to focus on the important points of this study (eliminating excess) obtained from the literature review.This learner’s study is a qualitative study, therefore, this learner needs to explain the phenomenon, what is known and what is still unclear about such phenomenon including explanations about case studies and existing studies provided in the literature review. According to the instructor, this learner should be providing a gap in knowledge and not a blend of the gap and the resolution for a real world problem. This learner must be concise in his rationale of the problem and provide a succinct argument when explaining the phenomenon, what is known and what is missing in current literature, clearly pulling ideas. The argument in this learner’s proposal should be aligned throughout the entire document. This learner needs to change the course of the current argument in the purpose of the study section leading to a qualitative study analysis rather than a quantitative study.

I am adding one qualitative study (Phenomena- or the experience of healthy siblings) that needs to be added as the archived qualitative study of choice for this paper which means that I will be extracting the data (healthy siblings involved, mentally ill siblings involved and the experiences of healthy siblings with their mentally ill siblings) to this prospect. You will have a PDF file of this study and I am adding (you need to make a nice transition emphasizing this study on the introduction, and each section of the prospectus especially on the data analysis section of this prospectus) this study to my prospectus:
