CONFERENCE POSTER

Purpose: You will identify a problem that you think exists in contemporary (modern day) society and demonstrate to your classmates and professor that this issue deserves more attention. This conference poster should give you the opportunity to describe a problem that is meaningful in your life. In academic and workplace contexts, you may be asked to display your research as a poster that is meant to be interacted with by an audience. We will have two class days to share and interact with one another’s posters, which will be hung up in our classroom.

Task: Create a poster (approximately 48″ x 36″) that answers the following question: Why does the contemporary problem I have chosen deserve more attention?

Requirements: Your poster must incorporate the following:

• A title
• An introduction to the problem
• At least two visuals
• At least three ideas of the most significant elements of the problem
• Three quotes/paraphrases + citations from two sources
• Two questions for your classmates tied to the information presented on the poster
