Good evening Professor and Class!
When Jesus used the phrase “Kingdom of God” he had some values in mind that made him use it and one of them was humility. Even though Jesus knew he owned the kingdom of God and had easy access to it, he was humble enough to equate himself with the other human beings in the society. Another value that Jesus had in mind was faithfulness. Jesus used the phrase with the aim of winning people to Gods side. As such, he had faith that through using such phrase, he would be able to many covert non- believers to Christianity. Finally, Jesus had the value of authority and authenticity in mind while using the phrase, the kingdom of God (Marshall, 2015). This is because he knew what he was talking about and had authority from God himself.
Apocalypticism in our text means the imminent coming to an end of the world belief held by Christians. The notion of the judgment day where the god will be rewarded and the bad punished comes into play. So when the judgment day comes, people will be judged according to their deeds hence determining whether they will enter or not enter the Kingdom of the God.
