When speaking of apocalypticism it means “the vision of impending judgement” (Molloy, 2013, p. 352). Impending judgement is when Jesus returns, it is then you will be judged for your actions during life and whether you have repented in praying for forgiveness of your sins. Suffering and death will come to an end. Note the Beatitudes are spoken of in the future to come, for example: “they will be comforted”, “they will inherit the land”, “they will be called children of God”.

The Kingdom of God includes those who show love and kindness to each other and taking care of each other the best we can. Living through God’s Word to ‘love they neighbors’ is an important law of love. We as Christians are also to follow the Ten Commandments. Jesus said the Kingdom of God was at hand. He meant it was within our reach. This is why Jesus said, “the Kingdom of God is not found in the careful observations of men, nor will people say, ‘look here’ or ‘look there,’ for the Kingdom of God is among you. (Luke 17:20).

I also believe that the Kingdom of God refers to him being the ruler, sitting at the throne of the Kingdom, and governing all things. God’s sovereign action in the world to redeem and deliver his believers and then at a future time finish it and renew his people and the universe completely.
