In the handbook, Strategies for Community Engagement in School Turnaround, published by the Reform Support Network, it is stated, “A school exists to educate the children of a community, and by embracing community engagement, political and educational leaders demonstrate their recognition that families and communities have an important say in what happens inside its doors” (p3. para.3).

Using your selected federal education program as a model, evaluate the impact of community engagement and dialogue in the achievement of the program’s goals and desired outcomes. How might policy makers engage the community in useful dialogue and inquiry to foster collaboration, develop innovative solutions, and gain support for program initiatives and education reform?
