As a research intern of the think tank, this is the culmination of your final course project. The final project should have complete paragraphs and sentences and not be in point or outline form. The project should include:

• An introduction, which includes a thesis statement. Provide a description of what the essay is about and briefly explain which ethical theory will support your position.
• The body of the text, where you will look at the key issues of your topic, compare and contrast differing arguments on the topic, demonstrate your mastery of your research sources (paraphrasing, quoting, and citing them), and utilize the key terms you defined in Milestone 2 Task 2). Here, you are required to state your preferred viewpoint (e.g., Consequentialist (Utilitarian) ethicist, Nonconsequentialist (rational) ethicist, and/or Virtue ethicist. You must explain how your chosen ethical theory aligns with your position. It is not enough to simply state that it does. You must demonstrate an understanding of how to apply ethical theory to support your thesis.

Note: The Final Project should include all of your revised milestone submissions. You should include each of the revised submissions you submitted after reviewing the instructor’s grading comments.

Next, state your preferred viewpoint (e.g., Consequentialist [Utilitarian or Ethical Egoist] ethicist, Nonconsequentialist, Kantian ethicist, or Divine Command theorist, Virtue ethicist, or some combination of the different positions you have studied) and how that viewpoint will affect your approach to the material. Once you have compiled all these essential parts of the essay, also include:

• A conclusion that summarizes your argument and considers the wider issues at stake
• A reference list of your sources in MLA format and properly formatted MLA in-text citations
