Read Jonathan Yardley’s review of A Moveable Feast. In all, the essay contains twelve paragraphs. (Keep in mind that the offset portion in a reduced-size font on page three is actually part of the preceding paragraph.)
As you pass through the essay, each time you complete a paragraph, jot down a three-word annotation (i.e., a short note) that sums up the paragraph’s main point. These annotations may only contain three words, and those words may be nouns, verbs and/or adjectives. That means no determiners, no pronouns, no prepositions, no adverbs, no conjunctions, etc. Only nouns, verbs and adjectives will be accepted.
