PART 1Write a 175- to 265-word response to the following:Why are standards of care required for health care professionals and organizations? Explain.Do you believe the standards are adequate? Why or why not?Read and respond to at least two of your classmates’ discussion posts.Response 1Standards of care are required for health care professionals because it gives them a guideline to follow and a level a quality they should strive for. Every situation is different yet the level of care should always remain the same. Standards of care also ensure that each interaction follows safety guidelines as well. This allows for a globally recognized level of care that all health care professionals should take into account when they go into work. This goes for organizations too. No matter where you go, the standards of care should be the same and those whom they employ should follow suit regardless of where they are employed.I believe that standards are adequate but only for a short amount of time. I say this because the world and the health care industry is constantly changing. This means that there will be constant adjustments that we must enforce to become our new “standard”. However, this can differ day-to-day. This is why I feel that standards are adequate for now but might not be same for tomorrow.Response 2The standard of care is outlined as the medical professional using dignity, respect, and compassion at the time of patient care. It classifies the level and type of care provided by the health care professional to the patients during treatment. The standard of care is required for all health care professionals and organizations because it ensures patients are provided accurate treatment that is safe. The standard of care for each patient will be different depending on what their current medical status is. As a health care provider, you are required to provide the best possible care available and honor the patient provider contract. It allows you to develop trust with your patient and keeps them coming back to schedule more visits for medical care. I believe the standard of care is not adequate because it can never be fully captured. We can never fully measure or ensure the standard of care is being provided during treatment unless an issue arises. There are some situations where the standard of care is not used such as withholding information related to treatment so the patient can continue to come in for the same issue.PART 2COMPLETE THE WORKSHEET ATTACHED
