Overview: This assignment asks you to write a research paper outline using the Research Paper Outline Worksheet that you can find in the Week 15 Module on our Canvas class page.

Purpose:

1. Decide upon a final topic, as well as what poems and articles to use, for your Research Paper.
2. Organize your main ideas and thesis for your upcoming Research Paper.
3. Demonstrate your ability to structure and plan an academic paper.

Audience: Your audience is your instructor. That means your audience expects college-level academic writing that follows the guidelines of the assignment and is largely free of grammatical errors. Your audience will be familiar with effective paper structures and the articles and poems available through our class Canvas page.

Content Requirements: Complete the worksheet by addressing all questions and prompts fully. You should copy and paste the “Body Paragraph” outline section at least 5 times, or for as many body paragraphs as you currently anticipate including. You should also expect to take up more lines in response to each prompt than is provided on the worksheet; simply continue writing until you have fully addressed each prompt or question.

Details:

• You must completely address all of the questions and prompts on the worksheet.
• Your final outline should be 2-4 pages in length (no point deductions for going longer than 4 pages).
• While you are expected to answer the prompts completely on the worksheet, you are NOT expected to write out fully-formed paragraphs on the worksheet.
• You are NOT obligated to stick 100% to your outline in your final paper, although doing so will make writing your final paper easier.
• Worth 50 points.
• Due no later than Sunday, 05/06 at 11:59 pm. Late papers are not accepted. This assignment is not eligible for revision or extra credit.
