• Develop ideas/reasons to convince your readers of your main claim.
• Support your various ideas/reasons with specific examples and quotes or paraphrases from the texts we have read in class and from outside sources. Remember to have one to two quotes per paragraph.
• Use one to two block quotes.
• Remember to always explain the relevance of those examples/sources as they relate to/support your claim.
• Cite at least four sources. At least two of your sources must come from scholarly sources. Your other two sources can come from books or popular sources. Remember to use the library databases to find the outside sources.
• Once you gather your sources, you will submit a bibliography. Please see the bibliography assignment for a description of what this entails.
• Explain and refute some objections to your argument (the counterargument).
• In your conclusion, reiterate the importance of your claim.
